Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (December 7 63, Nigeria) was born to a faith-based family and loving, dedicated parents. He is the oldest son of Elder T.E Oyakhilome. Angelina, one of the pioneers at the Assemblies of God’s Church in Benin City, as well as the matriarch of the Oyakhilome clan. Pastor Chris is the father of two daughters: Carissa Sharon (Charlene) and Chris. Carissa Sharon has decided to follow her father’s model of sharing the gospel of God with the world and is also called CSO She is a gifted gospel artist, award-winning and a member of the LoveWorld Music and Arts family.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome started his studies at Edo College. Then he was awarded a scholarship that allowed him to go to Bendel State University, now Ambrose Ali University. There he graduated with a BSc. in Architecture as well as an honorary Doctor of Science. He also holds an honourary doctorate in divinity from Benson Idahosa University. Ambrose Ali University was the place where he was able to feel God called him to become a minister to the Lord.

Pastor Chris: The Mentor

When he was still in university, The Man of God created what would become one of the largest churches worldwide. He started a small prayer group called “Youth for Christ” that would eventually grow into the most popular organization of its kind on campus. This could also be the foundation for the future Christ Embassy and LoveWorld Incorporated which has millions of followers all over the globe.

The LoveWorld ministry was founded under the leadership of Pastor Chris. It’s a pioneer in satellite television, Christian TV production and programming. Chris Oyakhilome LoveWorldSAT was the first Christian television station to broadcast from Africa to the the world, 24 hours a day, nonstop on free-to-air networks. Today, LoveWorld stations can be seen on satellite and cable TV networks around the world.

Christ Embassy has a strong presence in Pastor Chris’s home country of Nigeria. Two Healing Schools are located in South Africa and Canada. In Canada Pastor Chris hosts special sessions throughout the year which allow miraculous healing to occur.

Music and Gospel Music are an important element of the worship. Pastor Chris is a strong advocate for Christ Embassy Churches and Loveworld Music and Arts Ministry trained choirs. Many of these singers develop into successful solo artists through Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s spirit and guidance.
