Pastor Chris: Man

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (December 7 63, Nigeria) was born to a faith-based family and loving, dedicated parents. He is the oldest son of Elder T.E Oyakhilome, one of the pioneers of the Assemblies Of God Church in Benin City, and Angelina who is the mother of the Oyakhilome family, who imprinted her divine grace upon her son at an early age.

The whole family is actively engaged in the LoveWorld ministry. His brother Reverend Ken is the highly regarded pastor of Christ Embassy’s Houston, Texas Church and is a member of the Christ Embassy Central Executive Council, and his sister, KattyWorghiren, is the director of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry (LMAM), which is home to several world-class gospel artists.

Pastor Chris has two daughters: Carissa Sharon and Charlene. Carissa Sharon decided to follow her father’s lead in sharing God’s Word to the world. The name is CSO (Community Service Organization), she is a skilled gospel artist and is a part of the LoveWorld Music and Arts community.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome studied at Edo College before winning a scholarship to study architecture at Bendel State University, known now as Ambrose Ali University, where the student earned a BSc in Architecture. He also received an honorary Doctor of Science award. He also holds an honorary doctorate from Benson Idahosa University in divinity. While at Ambrose Ali University, he got his calling from God to join the ministry and become an obedient servant of the Lord.

When he was still in university, the Man of God founded what would be one of the largest churches around the world. He established a small prayer group called “Youth for Christ” which would later grow into the most popular group of its kind on campus. This would also serve as the basis for the future Christ Embassy and LoveWorld Incorporated which has millions of followers around the globe.

Under Pastor Chris’s leadership, LoveWorld became a pioneer of satellite television and Christian programming. LoveWorldSAT was the first Christian television station to broadcast out of Africa to the rest of the world 24/7 continuously on free-to air networks.
